iPage not finding new WordPress site

(For the iPage Social Media people if still monitoring this site).
I have a brand new 2 year iPage hosting account and installed WP to build the site (the registrar is elsewhere). After wasting too much time and saying way too many words of frustration. My initial site was not showing up. I was getting the infamous “This page indicates the webmaster has not uploaded a website to the server.” message. Finally, through the Grace of Google, I found some old posts in this forum indicating the home.html file had to be renamed. That absolutely did the trick. My reason for this post- why doesn’t iPage include this little ‘gotcha’ in the setup instructions or the welcome to iPage email? Knowing the solution up front would save a lot of aggravation all the way around. Better yet, fix the problem.
