iPhoto automatic upload into WordPress

  • Hi. I know this has been asked before, but all the threads are VERY old on this subject.

    I use iLife 2011, which includes iPhoto 2011, on OSX Lion.

    Is there a way I can automatically upload my “Events” not only to Flickr or Picasa, but to WordPress? The whole FTPing routine is tedious and not practical for managing thousands of pictures.

  • I did some research on that because I need the same functionality. I believe you could theoretically do it via Dropbox (not automatically uploading photos, but accessing them as part of the regular WP media): There is a plugin that allows you to insert media from a Dropbox folder: https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/pressbox/ Unfortunately, the author does not seem to update it for the latest Dropbox API. I didn’t manage to get it working and other people report the same problem on his website.
    Well, if it would work, you could simply synchronize the image folder from the iPhoto Library to Dropbox (since it is possible to sync folders that are not inside the DB folder). There could also be a script that automatically exports iPhoto events to a Dropbox folder, I haven’t checked it.
    So, it depends all now on the developer of Pressbox. ??
