Irritating issue, please help

  • I’m at my wits end with this.

    I have this plug-in installed on several sites with no problems but on one I get this.

    Notice: wp_enqueue_script was called incorrectly. Scripts and styles should not be registered or enqueued until the wp_enqueue_scripts, admin_enqueue_scripts, or login_enqueue_scripts hooks. Please see Debugging in WordPress for more information.
    This only occurs when I activate convert-a-link.

    This site has exactly the same set up as a couple of others. I have deactivated all the plug-ins etc… and activated convert-a-link on its own. the error message appears.
    I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled it, I’ve reinstalled WordPress. No joy.

    Has anyone else had this issue

    I’ve had another look, running the website on WordPress default themes, 2019, 2017, 2016 with just this plugin activated gives the same error message.

    Using health check in troubleshooting mode, once convertalink is enabled, the error message appears, then the plugin cannot be disabled and my admin is stuck in troubleshooting mode…… Weird….

    I can’t help feeling that there is a simple explanation, but can I find it….No, so if anyone has a similar problem and found a fix please let we know
