    Hello everyone

I have a small and important request from WordPress plugin programmers.

The currency of Iran is IRR, but due to the low value of the country’s currency, we are forced to use IRT.

Hence, when we select the IRT currency in WooCommerce plugin settings.

Google Console warns us that you should use the IRR unit, but because it is not common, users have problems.

    (invalid iso 4217 currency code)

Well, Iranian users are forced to use the free WooCommerce Persian plugin, which comes with a lot of ads.
It is also associated with many slow queries due to faulty programming.

I have been using the WooCommerce plugin alone for nearly 7 years and I avoid installing buggy plugins (Farsi WooCommerce).

I request that you add the desired feature to the WooCommerce plugin as an option so that Iranian users don’t have to install and use different plugins.

    Thanks to WooCommerce Collection

    Hello Mr. Zubair Zahid

The main reason for creating this topic was that, with its warnings, Google intends to publicly announce that the WooCommerce plugin has the following two problems:

First, it must act under the rules of this company (referring to 5 million WooCommerce users).

Second, he probably noticed some flaws in the plugin (users around the world need to add different codes to the WooCommerce plugin to solve Google warnings).

Maybe all this is the global competition of two search engines, Google and Bing. that Google has become stricter than before.

Thank you very much for all the responses.

The request I have from Mr. Zubair Zahid is that the video mentions two Google Console warnings:

    Missing field “shippingDetails” (optional)

    Missing field “hasMerchantReturnPolicy” (optional)

Please try to check the two mentioned errors. I hope that a solution for the related errors will be found in the future updates of the WooCommerce plugin.

I am waiting for Mr. Zubair Zahid‘s answer.

Thank you for the answer Mr. Mahdi Yousefi

I don’t know if you actually go through all the threads or if someone has informed you.

Right now I feel like you’ve responded to the thread with an angry face.

I thank you on behalf of all Iranian people.

I did not try to make WooCommerce Farsi plugin, which has a large number of users, belittle it.

Yes, it is exactly like that.

You have spent a lot of time solving the currency problem. Thank you so muchI have seen several bugs from SlowQuery’s point of view and that’s why I tried to stay away from this plugin.

As well as advertisements and forcing to install other plugins. If you are interested, I will let you know the defects that I observed.

I will report in a topic in the Farsi WooCommerce plugin section.

    Hello @reza465,

I’d like to clarify a few points to prevent any confusion. :?)

    A) Regarding the iso 4217 currency code error: WooCommerce supports both the Iranian Riyal and Toman. However, Google only supports the Iranaia Riaya, so this is not something we can assist with I’m afraid. You can find further details in this response from the Google forums: https://support.google.com/webmasters/thread/180093959/price-currency-problem-in-iran?hl=en

    B) WooCommerce doesn’t have a GTIN product field by default, as previously mentioned. Hence, we’re unable to offer support for any custom solutions you’ve added to address this, as custom code is not within our scope of support. I suggest subscribing to the previous report mentioned by my colleague to stay updated on the addition of this feature.

    C) The following errors:

    • Missing field ‘shippingDetails’ (optional)”
    • “Missing field ‘hasMerchantReturnPolicy’ (optional)”

These are a result of a change by Google introduced back in April: https://developers.google.com/search/blog/2023/04/shipping-and-returns-information

Most SEO plugins, such as RankMath, have devised workarounds to add the missing fields.

Our team is also actively working on incorporating these missing fields into the product schema by default here, however, we don’t have an exact timeline for when this will be ready.

Given WooCommerce’s open-source nature, you’re welcome to submit a pull request to implement these changes if you’re interested. Your contribution would be greatly appreciated!

Let us know if I misunderstood your request or if you have any other questions!
