Is 2.X more secure? Or just optimised?

I’m using a child theme with Hemingway. When I updated to the new theme 2.X, everything broke and got ugly. I found some fixes, like removing the navigation walker in my child theme, but the header and footer are still messed up (things are not showing, fonts are too large, the black at the bottom stops and doesn’t go to the bottom…).

I thought having a child theme would prevent this from happening, but that was not true. So I returned to the old version 1.75 for now. Especially since you seem to still be tweaking the 2.X

But I wonder, is this a security risk (wordfence always thinks it’s important to update themes). Did you make changes because there’s a vulnerability? Or can people who still use and like 1.75 just keep using it?
