Is a feature addition of shipping classes contemplated?

Not for profit historic preservation group selling calendars, pamphlets, large maps and a blueprint.
All would likely be a separate shipping class. Right now only calendars are selling (store 3 weeks old) but at some point I’d like to use a similar tiering for the classes.
I’m not a big time developer, but I do know enough that not all simple requests end up being simple to implement. I’d understand if this feature request isn’t possible.
