• I went to update a user role today and suddenly found myself looking at what looked like a lot or restrictions where I don’t seem to be able to control the backend menu etc?

Is AAM now a premium product?

    Hello gang,

We do not convert free features into premium, though, AAM has premium addon.

In the latest AAM release we added to the UI a few features that always were premium like restricted backend menu mode or admin toolbar restricted mode.

Now, we also changed how AAM internal cache works for some of the services and now AAM 100% users WordPress core transients to store temporary data.

We noticed, that some caching plugins allow users to disabled transients on their sites and that definitely affects AAM functionality. If you have transients disabled on your site, we strongly advice you to enable them because it only hurts your website performance.

    Regards.

    Thanks Vasyl,

Relief at my end. Transients are a bit foreign to me (excuse the pun) but I will look into them regarding this issue. Yes, on my end disabling SiteGrounds SG Optimiser did the trick and access to all settings is back again. There are many settings in the SG plugin so I will need to investigate which of them is the possible culprit or, if it’s part of the base install of the plugin. As you suggest having transients enabled is a good idea so must make sure SG caching isn’t suppressing those.
