    Hi

We have stores in multiple states in US but one ecommerce website. it is all same company however we need to calculate sales tax for the customer who are ordering from the states that we are located, and in order to do that I need to input multiple address with different states in the general setting in woocommerece, since the automated tax calculation works based on the address.
    How Can I achieve that?
I can not input the tax manually for there are tons of listings even for one state..
We have stores in N and S Carolina
    Florida
    New Jersey
    Pennsylvania
    Tennessee
    Texas
    Utah
    Virginia

    Thank you

  • Hi there @dentis ??

Thanks for reaching out. Happy to help you with this!

From what I gather, taxes need to be calculated based on the customer’s shipping address -automatically.

I suggest enabling taxes first, under WooCommerce > Settings > General. Screenshot showcasing this, directly linked here.

Then, since all the stores are located in the US, I recommend installing and activating the WooCommerce Tax plugin, in order to automatically calculate how much sales tax should be collected for WooCommerce orders – by city, country, or state – at checkout.

Lastly, kindly enable that functionality under WooCommerce > Settings > Tax > Tax options, as showcased in the screenshot linked here.

I trust that points you in the right direction, but if you have more questions, let us know. We’re happy to help.

Thank you for your kind reply,
however my question was not on asking how to set the tax calculation automatically.
It is already done and set up, my question was how to input multiple addresses(states) in the general setting since our company is located in multiple states.. we need to calculate tax automatically based not on only one state but multiple states.
are there any way to set up multiple store address(locations) in WooCommerce general setting? strictly only for tax calculation..

    thank you

    Hi @dentis

Indeed, WooCommerce Shipping & Tax will only apply taxes to customers who are located in your site’s home state.

If you do need to charge taxes to customers outside your home state as well , you can use a plugin such as TaxJar or Avatax. Both these plugins will automatically calculate the required taxes automatically for every state.

Or, you can set up tax rates for specific areas manually – take a look at our documentation on setting up tax rates here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/setting-up-taxes-in-woocommerce/#section-12

    Hope this helps!
