Is auto publish to personal profile not possible anymore?

  • For a client of my I had set up the plugin to auto publish to personal profile.
    And it stopped working the other day.

    Couldn’t find the LinkedIn app anymore so I went to create a new one. There it’s stated the app need to be associated with a LinkedIn Company Page and not to a member profile page.

    So, the question is; Is auto publish to personal profile not possible anymore?

    Or am I missing something?

  • For certain functionality and products, you are required to associate your app with a LinkedIn Page. The company page you select will function as the publisher of the app. If you do not have a Page you have to create a Page.

    Tnx for the quick reply. But my question was about publish to a personal profile.

    Isn’t that possible any more? Sorry if I ask the obvious but this client is my only one who needs to use the LinkedIn API. So I’m not very into it.

    Yes, it is possible.
    But for creating app you should create a company page and then you can use the app to publish to profile only(set v2 api usage to Own app-Basic profile fields only for this in settings of WP to LinkedIn Auto Publish, publishing to company page requires review).
