• Hey I’m using Google News Compatible RSS Feed, everything working fine.

Today in a reply to question asked by me, Google news team said that I’m using both <description> and <content:encoded> tags in the feed.

“We also see that you are using both <description> and <content:encoded> tags in the feed. Instead, we suggest that you use any one of the tags. If both <content:encoded> and <description> tags are present in the feed, Google News crawls the tag with the least number of characters.”

Is it possible to to edit feed as said by Google News Team

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi Adityaraj72000,

The feed uses both tags so that it will validate without a warning.

And… actually, they crawl the tag with the most characters, not the least ??

Probably someone just made a mistake in the email template. If you don’t mind forwarding that to me at [email protected] – I’ll get in touch with the news team and ask them to correct that.

    Thank you,

    Chris
