Is $current_user->ID Safe ?

    i use with $current_user->ID to get the user ID Logged-in and i create control panel in site page .
    now users can change password .
    in coding , i get the user ID with $current_user->ID and update password.
    is $current_user->ID safe for get the user_id ??
