UPDATE to Is Elementor the new WordPress Dashboard?
-
Update: Oct 29th, 2024
The pro version is not a professional level plugin. Updates are still causing huge CSS issues rendering sites unreadable. This is manifesting as downtime in site monitors. Blocking updates is worse amateurish. No other plugin causes this error:
Unable to find an appropriate plugin version name = ‘elementor-pro’ sourceId = ‘2’ version = ‘3.24.1’
But Elementor Pro has been causing this for nearly a year. So dropping a couple more stars while trying to understand why I have paid so much for so long.
Elementor is causing more and more issues. Too many to write about as I still have to click ten times through the morass of pop ups and that’s all the time I’m willing to spend.
If you can’t allow updates to work properly and you can’t fix the breakages when a site does update you may want to find work that inspires you to do better.
These issues have now been normalized in the wordpress ecosystem. As I wrote to Ma.tt some years ago. WordPress is being destroyed from the inside.

I came back to see if there was any way I could reduce the stars for my review.
Elementor is total sh!t.
At this point, I’m thinking of using AI for everything. I need to get away from the now dozen clicks required to clear elementor from my dashboard. It’s beyond bloatware. It’s fatcrapware.
Specifically, you won’t notice how bad it is until you’ve been using it awhile. The issues are in the cache handling. When they update the plugin there’s a 90% chance it will break at least one website. Fixing it entails going back and starting from scratch on the issue that had to be worked around the first time. They are releasing beta software. It’s super upsetting since I’ve been a good customer. Now that I had to repay again, I will try to share my pain as often as possible. They won’t care but you should.
Login a site running elementurd and you’ll click 12 times before you can work on the site. For the first time I’m looking for an alternative to wordpress.- This topic was modified 3 years, 7 months ago by . Reason: Everything seems broken. Too many unresolved issues
