Hello and sorry to bother with a question:

Can this plugin become a replacement for e.g. the kind of outdated WooCommerce Google Analytics Integration plugin?
I ask because I can not find a good plugin anymore for enhanced ecommerce tracking out there in the plugin jungle.

Thanks for any ideas and tips
    Tom

  • FYI. YES! and more advanced features than GA.

I am using GTM to Dynamically Generate Schema/JSON-LD Tags (SEO purposes) for WC & WP.

Need register Google Tag Manager Account. (please also refer useful resource or info. from Duracellomi’s website and Google & YouTube Search – “WooCommerce Google Tag Manager” or “ECommerce Google Tag Manager”.)

    Hope Help You

    Hi Tom,

Thanks Teller for the help, indeed this plugin can be a replacement for the mentioned plugin. I would also say it might be the most complete enhanced ecommerce implementation currently available.

But Google Tag Manager is not Google Analytics, it can be frustrating at first that next to activating my plugin you need to setup so called “tags” and “variables” on tagmanager.google.com

If you are new to GTM I would first suggest to learn more about it:

    https://analyticsacademy.withgoogle.com/course/5

Once you are more familiar with the product, you will never want to get back to native GA plugins ??

    Have a great day,

    Hello Thomas and Teller,

thank you for your informations – I just started to implement it and it looks like for now, that I have at least what I had with GA!
    ??

In preview mode of GTM I see all the details of Current values of the Data Layer.
It seems, that there is no currency (EUR) passed over and I do not know yet if I should also see product variant SKUs when selecting a specific variation so far, but if I uncertain later on I will check back here.

Thank you for the plugin and I aprecciate a lot that is not a free basic / paid pro one!!!
I promis to donate when I use it permanently!

Best Regards and greetings from Vienna

    Oups just one more question:
I’m not exactly clear about your articel Reroute Google Analytics data to a Facebook remarketing pixel
Do I still have to add the Facebook Pixel Code to my site in the head area or is this at all done with GTM?

    Thanks for help

    Hi,

It seems, that there is no currency (EUR) passed over

You should see the currency in the data layer but you should look at a variable called ecommerce, inside that variable you should see the currencyCode variable.

I do not know yet if I should also see product variant SKUs

Not yet, support for variable product is planned to be added into v1.6 which will be released in January.

I’m not exactly clear about your articel Reroute Google Analytics data to a Facebook remarketing pixel

This is a side project of me, not exactly part of this plugin. If you are using it, you will not need to add the Facebook Pixel into your GTM container nor into your WP theme.

Let me know if you have other questions.

    Hello Thomas,

thank you very much for you reply!

Today I see in GA, that the currency is set correctly although I can not see it in the data layer ecommerce variable – it is set in GA view settings of the property.

For the ga2fb issue I just wanted to know if the second pixel ID as you explained on your website has to go below line 19 of the “Loading ga2fb lib” script?

    Thank you again
    Tom

    PS: donation is following
