• Self-teaching newbie trying my hardest here! Please bear with me if I’m not using correct terms ??

I’m starting my first blog, using Atahualpa theme. Here it is for reference. I have an About page which shows up on top of my header next to Home. Below the header are my Categories which show up horizontally, with subcategories for my posts. (is this my ‘navigation bar’?)

“About” is also showing up as the first link in these categories.

    Questions:
Why is “About” showing up in two places? On top of the header it is the “Page” because the only post in that page is the Disclosure Policy. However when “About” shows up at the beginning of my navigation bar, the Disclosure Policy post is not there.

Would an easy fix be to not show %pages in my theme’s ‘configure header area’? Would there be any problems with that?

I guess what I’d like to have is one menu across the bottom of the header, with Home / About / topic1 / topic2 / etc. What can I do to achieve this?

    Thanks so much.

Because you have both a page called “about” and a category called “about”. Hover over the link. It’s: https://chaosisbliss.com/category/about/.

You CAN do it, but I personally don’t think it’s a good idea. It would be confusing to have both pages and categories on the same line. Since you don’t have the category “uncategorized” (default – pulls a 404), I’m guessing you renamed it “about”. If the issue is just that you don’t want “about” in the categories list, rename it something else.
