• I decided I don’t need most of the ‘new things’ in wp2.5 for some of my blogs. I was going to roll them back to wp2.2.3

Is wp 2.2.3 basically safe to use ?

    Thanks.

  • As a number of security fixes were made to the 2.3.x and 2.5.x series, I’d say undertake the “roll them back” at your own risk.

2.3.3 might be a bit safer than 2.2.3… but what MichaelH said: don’t come back and ask for help if you get hacked.

I realize something out there might still bite me on this, but if 2.2.3 is ‘basically’ secure I’m willing to take the risk. I’m the only user and comments are off.

    edit:

I kinda like 2.3.3 better than 2.2.3, but 2.3.3 has those ‘upgrade now’ messages. I could hunt thos down and comment them out.

There are things in the admin panel I like that vanished with 2.5

If I get hacked, I’ll ask someone else for help. So, don’t worry about it.

I don’t do these things to upset people. I just don’t like the newer versions.
