• Soundcloud is a pain in my ass, its limiting the amount of music I can store. I would happily buy more but, for the amount I am getting its nothing. I am a dj and I frequently have 90 minute mixes. Is there a way I can store and have a sound cloud type player that allows people to play and download my music straight off my site?

    thanks!

  • yup. I use blubrry powerpress plugin

you can check my site at rvoodoo.com if you like, it’s a DJ site as well, I have about 100 mixes up there.

With powerpress you have a bunch of options as far as what your player will look like. You won’t get the fancy soundcloud waveform display or anything, but you can have a player, and download links no problem.

There are other audio plugins, or podcasting plugins that also work, and many of them will suit your needs if you look into them. I just mention the one I use as it’s for the exact same reason,.

Just be aware that to self host these mixes, you’ll need to use FTP to get them to your server. I have a /music folder in my wp-content folder, and I put yearly folders inside of that to sort my mixes. FTP them up, link them in the plugin (in powerpress, I can put in the link from within the individual post) and yer good
