Thanks for reaching out. Most SMTP servers do not have such ability, it requires a different protocol (IMAP) than SMTP. However, the mailer such as Gmail does have this ability because the emails are sent on the behalf of the Google account you’re authorizing.

In case it helps, our Pro version logs all outgoing emails on your site’s database and you can view them from within your WordPress dashboard. Here’s the documentation on email logging.
