Is it possible to add a waiting time to search?

    hello. I’ve seen in many forums that there is a waiting time required for re-searching after searching.

    is there a way to limit the search volume per minute/second to a certain number, or to give a waiting time when re-searching?

    I guess it is. A couple of ideas come to mind:

    1. If you’re mostly targeting human users, you can set a cookie when someone searches and then check for that to restrict access to the search.
    2. If you’re worried about bots, the best way would be to restrict the bot access on server level (that’s called “rate limiting”). If that isn’t an option, you can use IP address to control the access to the search.

    There’s nothing Relevanssi-specific about this, so if you need help doing this, any skilled WordPress developer should be able to help you.
