• I have had my blog running so much time that I can’t remember if it’s something I did or not.

The specific problem is somewhat irrelevant, i’m using wp-fb-autoconnect awesome plugin but the avatars of my users appear everywhere in the site except in the comments area – there is only a WordPress blue logo there as an avatar instead of the one loaded from the facebook profile.

Anyway, I made a clean install of WordPress with Customizr of course and all the rest of my plugins exactly as the real blog. And the avatars work perfectly in the comment area, and also, the comments appear to be aligned differently which kind of makes sense because I use RTL language.

So I guess it has to be some change that i made that broke this feature. but i switched to another theme, deleted and reinstalled Customizr and it didn’t solve the problem at all.

Is there a chance that there is some residues of the theme settings that are not deleted and in fact, saved somehow when I uninstall the theme?

  • Hey there

How did you duplicate the blog?

And it’s an exact match, settings as well?

There must be something different in the sites there is one works as expected and the other not but they are a duplication

Perhaps you can share a link so we can see if the layout and CSS?

    Take care.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your quick reply!
I didn’t really duplicate the site, i just created a new installation and added customizr and all the rest of my plugins (in case one of them was conflicting with wp-fb). The settings in terms of widgets and design are not exactly the same i guess. But I don’t think that is were the problem hides.
    The site is https://www.glouds.com
    I appreciate any help ??

    Let me get this straight:
    – There are two sites, one is broken and one is fine
    – The broken one works fine with another theme, but not with Customizr
    – The broken one won’t work even if you uninstall Customizr and reinstall

    Are all those statements true?

And yes, settings are saved in the database between installations (not just in Customizr; its normally considered a good thing). There are plugins that will clean out your database, but they are not for the faint-hearted and especially not for the non-backed-up.

    – There are two sites, one is broken and one is fine: True
    – The broken one works fine with another theme, but not with Customizr: Not True. It doesn’t work even with another theme. (I think I see you point here)
    – The broken one won’t work even if you uninstall Customizr and reinstall: True.

I am faint-hearted ?? especially since the site is up and running and has many visitors… I am looking for relatively safe solutions here ??

    Hey Arik,

Hope you’re doing well today and thanks for the clarification here.

You mentioned that on your clean install it did work?

I just visited your site and see on this post that appears to be a user logged in via fb that he does have an avatar: https://www.glouds.com/smart-tv-4/#comment-3330

I notice other ones on that page just have the WP logo though. Do you have any avatar plugins installed on your site? Perhaps there are settings in that causing the issue. Double check if you do ??

Look forward to hearing back. Have a great day.

    All the best,
    Tyler
