Is it possible to change the default header styles?

  • The headings in the theme I am using are too small, so instead of using the <h1> to <h6> tags I created my own custom subheadings.

    However I have now found out that search engine algorithms look out for specific header tags.

    Is there any way for me to apply the <h1> to <h6> header tags to the customised subheadings I created so that the search engine algorithms will pick them up?
