Is it possible to force website visitors to get prompted for their age daily?

  • Is it possible to force website visitors to get prompted for their age daily?

    Or, on a schedule that we can set? Something like daily, hourly, weekly, every 3 days, monthly, etc.?

    I’m just trying to understand how often Age Gate will display the prompt to verify the visitor’s age.

    Is there a way we can customize this? Please just explain the default behavior.

    Hi @garymgordon,

    Sure, here’s a rundown:

    Once successfully validated a user is remembered for their session – that is, until they close the window/quit the browser (OS depending).

    The next time they visit, if that session has ended they’ll be rechecked.So it could be the next hour, day, or whatever depending on if their session ended.

    There’s also the option of “Remember me” that will remember them for however long you set.

    Finally, in the next release I’ve added a filter for the standard cookie length, so you could effectively make the session last as long as you want.

    That will be called age_gate/cookie/length and will be in 3.0.1 when released shortly.
