Is it possible to have a modal form button within a form?

Hi!
I would like to create a form with a contact button in it, which leads to a modal form (also Caldera).

I’ve tried but the only thing that happens is that the modal form button – instead of just showing the button, shows the whole form.
Perhaps it’s not possible to have a form (even though it’s modal) within a form?

I have several scenarios where I would like to do this and one is this:
A customer orders something from a form.
After submitting I redirect them to a thank you-page.
The only thing this thank you page contains is another Caldera form.

So far so good.

And it’s here I would like to add the modal-version of the contact form – not on the page but within the form.

It’s no big deal and I know how to work around it, but it would be a neat thing.
