• My scenario is this one, I have multiple authors divided by groups. Each group has its assigned editors and an auditor. If an author of group 1 creates a post it must go to the editors of that group for review and not to other editors. The same for the auditor.

I suppose I can make it happen with multiple workflows, but to make the system bullet proof I want the authors to only be able to choose the workflows designed for their groups.

    Is this possible?

I was actually planning to add a feature wherein the admin can assign category/ies to the workflow.

Posts/Pages which fall under the specified category will be allowed to flow through the given workflow.

Will that work for your use case?

I will certainly work, but it is still the problem of the final user not selecting the proper category and ending in the wrong workflow.

It will be very interesting if there is a way of expanding this to the author/user level … if only is there a way to limit categories for the users to use?

    Thanks for your answer

Are you using a specific plugin to achieve the following?

“I have multiple authors divided by groups. Each group has its assigned editors and an auditor”

I would like to install/configure the same and see how to relate the same to oasis workflow.

No yet, I am looking forward to test some plugins for that matter: members, advance access manager or role scoper.

I am doing something similar I think. More control over roles and lines of responsibility would be great.

For use control I use a combination of ‘User Role Editor’ and s2Member Pro

What I would like to see would be this…

Ability to select workflow from a front end form, this would then pre-select and restrict to the specified categorie/s.

I am also trying to figure how to make a workflow assign automatically to a persons manager, so that the user can create the post, and the manager get assigned the review/approval. The awkward bit I think is linking the user to his manager.

Using lots of workflows, this may work if there was the ability to create a form on the front end that was specific to a workflow.

Dont know if that makes sense to you…

How about a concept of “Team”. If we can create teams with appropriate users (2 authors, 2 reviewers, 1 publisher) and then at the time of “submit to workflow” assign a team responsible to complete the workflow, the items will automatically flow to the appropriate users.

    Hi nuggetsol,

It would be nice if the authors could be limited to choose only teams for which they are members. The idea is to release the authors from the responsibility of making the correct choice about what workflow to choose.
