Is it possible to recreate a website just from SQL dump and the belonging files

  • This morning WP suddenly didn’t work anymore, Internal Server Error 500. I tried to fix it the whole day, and I now just want a quick fix since I can’t lose any more time on this. I already did a new WP installation. Is it possible to transfer my files over there and then extract only the pages/posts from the old SQL database? I still have access to it.

    if you have all the files and an SQL dump, you can recreate the old site without setting up a ‘new’ installation. Upload all your files, import the database over the one you created for the new site, and then adjust the db parameters in wp-config.php if necessary.
