    I found PPC has extension system.
    Is it possible for me to develop a BuddyPress group extension?

    I found the BuddyPress group extension already done.
    Is the extension able to replace the PPC internal group?

    Yes, with the PP BuddyPress Role Groups extension active, all permission customizations which can be done to Press Permit’s internally defined groups are also available for BuddyPress groups.
