Is it possible to track Phone Numbers?

    Hi all,

    Firstly thanks Jerry – the creator for a great Plugin!

    It works perfectly on my website.

    I can track Calls within GA/Behavior/Events.

    However, i have 2 questions about the tracking>

    1. Is it possible to know phone numbers calling to me in GA?
    2. Is it possible to know how long each call is?

    Hi KhanhHQ,

    Thanks for your message. Super interesting questions. And unfortunately the answer is no. The button just sends your phone number from your website to the phone app of your phone. The phone app doesn’t send any information back to your browser which is what you would need to track caller ID and length of call.

    One way of doing this is by creating a unique phone number to be used by the call now button only. Most phone companies will show a specification of calls made at a certain time and what length they were. That you could then match that with the GA event data. Or you could use a DID service that will generate a unique phone number and use a forward service to forward calls to your current phone. And again match the calling data with the GA data.
