• Hi everyone,

I am considering making my wordpress site a multisite for the purpose of adding a second language, I found good guides to do this but I can’t understand whether it’s possible to implement hreflang tags to the pages in wordpress, which is a very crucial point for search engines. Would it be correct if I was to implement the hreflangs with Head & Footer Code plugin, inserting them in the <head> of each page? Thanks in advance

    Hi there,

Thank you for considering Head & Footer Code plugin for your project.

If you use some plugin to provide pages in another language, I would recommend you consider a hreflang handling within that particular plugin.

Otherwise, if you simply use multisite, then you can use HFC to manually insert hreflang meta tag to the HEAD section of each page, although you’ll need to add it manually on each page for each related language, which could be a long process if you have large amount of pages to amend.

To achieve the above, choose the behaviour “Append to the site-wide code” and enter the hardcoded hreflang meta tag to the Head Code section on the page/post edit screen (check this screenshot).

Please let me know if you have any further questions.
    Aleksandar
