Is it possible to use (one) fixed category

This isn’t currently possible. I’ve added it to our ideas board.

Just wanted to give you a heads up, we just released an update to the plugin which will let you confine all searches to a single taxonomy. It’s not exactly what you were looking for, but it’s a big step in that direction. Give it a try if you have a minute and let me know what you think.
