Is it possible to use Shopify’s shopping cart and EDD for fulfillment?

    I administer a Shopify store that sells both physical merch and digital music downloads via the ShopWP plugin on a WordPress website. Unfortunately, my provider for digital delivery is raising rates and I want to explore other possibilities for the music fulfillment- but I want to keep the merch and music sales together in the same shopping cart.

    Would there be a way with EDD to keep using Shopify for its shopping cart functionality and only use EDD for fulfillment – say by providing a link to the downloadable content once it has been purchased via Shopify? If so, how would one go about setting that up?

    Could you please provide us with a bit more details regarding the digital delivery part of your purchase flow?

    If you could tell us what the Digital delivery service is and if you could describe what a typical customer purchase flow looks like.

    It would help us to get a better understanding of what the current flow is now, the service you use at the moment so that we can get a better idea of how things are running to see if there is a way to have you keep the same flow by using EDD.

    Thanks @misulicus for the prompt reply!

    The site uses Single Music for digital delivery. It’s a bit complicated, but they integrate with Shopify and when a user checks out, they send an email with a link to download the music.

    I would be open to other delivery options such as the user getting a password they can use to download their items from a password protected page , or just being redirected to a download page after the sale.

    Now that I think about it, it seems like EDD might not be necessary for either of the above. But, I tried EDD in the past and recall it being useful so thought it might be the way to go.
