Hy, is it possible to create group inside group?

What do I mean with that is for example:
I want to group ads by clients. So let’s say I have 5 clients (Coca-Cola, Adidas, Nike, Duracell and Lego). Now I want to create seperate group for Coca-Cola in wich I will have groups of ads (each group of ad for different place on website)… The same with every other client.

Basically I want to organize my ads this way, cause this is the way I’m using it now with “Revive adserver” and it works perfectly but now I want to switch to WordPress and use your plugin.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi lookazd

Thanks for reaching out and your general interest in the plugin.

    Yes, you can.

But I recommend using a consisted naming scheme to sort your ads instead. Benefiting from the filter and search options in the upper-right corner of your ad list.

Naming your ads like “advertiser – campaign – format – placement” helps to sort the general ad list as you like it.

The groups in Advanced Ads are meant to act as a collection of ads assigned to the same placement.

If you still want to create groups in groups, you can do this using the “ad group ad type”. This feature is quite powerful, but can also become messy fast, especially on lager ad setups.

I also would like to point you to our list of productivity tips and the first-steps-tutorial for an easy start with Advanced Ads.

Please let me know if you need anything else.

    Best regards,
    Henning

Hy henningaa, sorry for my late response.

Yes I understand your logic with your suggestion of renaming ads by name/campaign/format/ect and then filtering them by search options, but that solution is not very practical when there are tons of ads (and there certainly will be with the time).

Let me use the analogy with the music artists. If I have 10 different artist, and each artist have at least 5 albums, and each album have at least 8 songs… It will be much easier if I could sort them in folders with structure Artist/album/songs instead of puting all songs of all albums and all bands in the same folder and then search by filtering name of the artist.. Even if I did that I would need to scroll through a lot of songs to find something I need.
And with the time there will be more and more artists/albums/songs and will be a nightmare to not sort them logically with the structure above.

The same is with the ads. I would like to sort them with structure brand/year/campaign/ad groups (collection of ads assigned to the same placement)… So basically I need to create empty folder with name and put another folder in that… So simple yet obviously difficult to achive ??

I checked link you gave me above, but I’m afraid that’s not so helpful with this what I’m trying to achive. Maybe I’m wrong. If I am, can you please show me in short lines how to do that, if possible…

    Thanks in advance
    best regards

    Hi lookazd

The groups in Advanced Ads do not have a hierarchy like folders on a file system, but you can still use them quite similar. If you assign an ad to multiple groups you can use these as an additional sorting. Together with naming, the search function and ad status you should be able to keep an overview even with many adverts.

Ad management and filter on the ad overview page.

If you want to see an additional behavior in a future version of Advanced Ads, please feel free to add your demand to our feature request list.

    Best regards,
    Henning
