Is my WordPress slow?

  • Hi!

    I check my WordPress site https://hpguru.net download speed and this is 6-10 seconds. Is my WordPress fast or slow? My latest test here https://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/?url=hpguru.net//&id=1357042 (8.5 seconds). I use 13 plugin, disable autosave and post revisons and delete them from my database. Before tests i delete un-wanted database rows and i repair and optimize database.

  • It didn’t seem slow when I tried it out, took less than 3 seconds and I have a slow connection.

    And you have a really nice looking site there!

    Thank you. I have 8M/1M internet and my site is fast download for me
    without any temporary files 4-6 seconds and with it something like 1-2 seconds. But this tools pingdom tell me, that my site download 6-10 seconds… hmm. Is tools pingdom reliable? And is 6-10 seconds good download time for home page?

    I’ve never used pingdom, instead I use Firebug (Mozilla Firefox Plugin). This is probably more reliable as it records the speed as you open your page.

    And in my opinion, 6-10 seconds is fine, but if its over 20 seconds, then it turns me off the site.

    Thank you. I will try Firebug on my Firefox 3.5.
