    Good Day,

    1. Is your plugin compatible with Cloudflare APO?
    2. If we convert our images to AVIF using your plugin, will Cloudflare (Free plan) still deliver them in the AVIF format?
    3. Will Cloudflare’s Hotlink Blocking feature still work if we optimize our images using your plugin?

    Thank you ??

    Hi @generosus

Thank you for your interest in Optimole and for contacting us.

Sure, you can use Optimole with CloudFlare, and there are no additional steps required if Cloudflare serves images using your domain. If there is Cloudflare’s domain to serve your images – that CDN needs to be whitelisted –?https://dashboard.optimole.com/whitelist

Please not that we don’t modify your original images, we just served them in AVIF/WEBP format based on the user browser and device.

Also, In order for optimole to work properly you need to whitelist requests with?User Agent: Optimole(1.0)?and images should start being served properly by Optimole.

Here is the guide you can refer to – https://docs.optimole.com/article/1344-how-to-whitelist-optimole-user-agent-on-cloudflare

I hope this helps, let us know if you have any other questions!

    Hi @kushnamdev,

Testing complete. We can confirm your plugin is compatible with Cloudflare Free and APO with/without whitelisting your User Agent, Optimole(1.0).

All images served in the AVIF format.

    Hoorah ??

    Thank you!

    Hi @generosus

    Thank you for the confirmation.

Feel free to let us know if you have any questions.

    Have a great day!

You might want to point out that Optimole is not compatible with cloudflare when their “Bot Fight Mode” feature is turned on. You cannot set up a WAF rule to bypass Bot Fight Mode, and it blocks connections from Optimole, preventing connecting Optimole and the WordPress back end. The only option is to turn Bot Fight Mode off. This took me a while to figure out, your documentation really should not say that it’s possible to add a rule to cloudflare’s WAF to allow Optimole’s agent. If Bot Fight Mode is on (which is the default) then it’s not possible.

    Hi @synthezoid,

We already have a doc created for this topic which can be found here – https://docs.optimole.com/article/1344-how-to-whitelist-optimole-user-agent-on-cloudflare

I hope this helps, thank you!

    Hi @kushnamdev,

Thanks for your post. I plan to install this plugin soon. To whitelist Optimole’s agent on cloudflare, I tried to follow the directions in the doc mentioned above. However, the directions are outdated because cloudflare has updated their site. Their menu no longer has a firewall icon. The firewall rules are now accessed by going to Security>WAF. In addition, more rule options were added, so it would be helpful if the doc can be updated.
