Is PageSpeed Insights and other online resources Blocked?

    Hi,
    When I try to test my website on PageSpeed Insights, last a few days it is returning an error. It says;

    Errored Document Request; Lighthouse has encountered an error while loading the requested page.

    Also happens when I am trying to get an online tool to scan my page. It returns a 500 error.

    This been happening only after installing Wordfence.

    I’ve checked the live traffic and whitelisted the IP blocked around the time when I try to run PageSpeed Insights.

    I will appreciate your advice.

    Update: Sometimes I get this error instead. Unable to resolve?https://tanic.design/. Try checking the URL for validity.

    Hi @yaizamartinez, thanks for your message.

    I’ve seen this message in the past with PageSpeed and Lighthouse when Lighthouse fails connecting to the dev tools in the headless browser. There are some tickets in the Lighthouse repository about it.

    I would expect to see a 403 or 503 error rather than a 500 from Wordfence, but you can confirm whether it’s involved by checking your Live Traffic for any blocks at the same time that this error occurs. If you click on an entry, it’ll expand and show which rule or setting caused the block. If Wordfence did cause the block, you can try clicking the “ADD PARAM TO FIREWALL ALLOWLIST” button or pasting the red text here so I can advise further.
