Is possible put a "Edit this entry"?

I’m a bit confused as this is already part of the posts_loop_template.php file – it’s the following line (line 32 in posts_loop_template.php):

<?php edit_post_link( __( 'Edit', 'twentyten' ), '<span class="meta-sep">|</span> <span class="edit-link">', '</span>' ); ?>

Let me know if I’m misunderstanding the question.
