Is SMTP plugin required to send contact form on GoDaddy?
-
I’ve used Contact Form 7 before and I love how easy it
iswas to use. Unfortunately, I have never been able to get the contact form to send on a particular website I built for a client in February. I’m not an SMTP expert, but I’ve read and watched some tutorials claiming that an SMTP plugin might fix any issues with sending emails from the form. I’m using Easy WP SMTP. I don’t usually use GoDaddy, but I’m working on my client’s site and that is the hosting they chose. It was like pulling teeth trying to find information on why GoDaddy’s servers won’t send emails from Contact Form 7 and sometimes (as in my case) even with the suggested SMTP settings and plugin. There is no one post titled “Why you can’t send SMTP from GoDaddy”, which is strange since just about every error or issue one could run into has been addressed by at least one affiliate marketing blog. Perhaps it is for legal reasons or to not get sued? As many folks as have posted about these troubles, I’m surprised there’s not one step-by-step authoritative article on the solution.
I’ve literally been troubleshooting this issue for almost 2 months and I’m getting very frustrated. The client needs her contact form to work … something so simple … why isn’t it working?
I’m not sure what you need from me, but let me know and I’ll be happy to provide it. I won’t change any settings or tinker around with the plugin until I get a reply here, that way we can control for the least amount of variables.
