• I might be asking the obvious, but I just want to be certain: I give support to a bunch of websites for solo entrepreneurs and the like. They have Google Analytics installed in the website, some have a small webstore, but they do not use tags. As there are quite a few settings in the Complianz, I am still a little unsure whether the free version is sufficient in what comes to Google consent in EU. I believe you need a paid version if the site uses tags. Am I right?

    Hi @korpiri,

Fair question. Reading this article from Google on the subject (https://support.google.com/tagmanager/answer/13695607?hl=en), they state the following about the requirement to implement Consent Mode:

In 2024, our enforcement action will also impact measurement features. To keep using measurement, ad personalization, and remarketing features, you must collect consent for use of personal data from end users based in the EEA and share consent signals with Google. The requirements also apply if you are using Google Analytics data with a Google service.

While the precise impact of not implementing Consent Mode before March 2024 is not entirely clear, the way I interpret the above, it seems likely that you will require Google Consent Mode (as available in the Premium version of Complianz) to meet these requirements and keep using the measurement features of Google Products.

Hope it helps. Kind regards, Jarno
