    I’m trying to use MekaNews Lite on my site and would like to change the green colour in some of it’s elements to blue.
    So I decided to create a child theme, but I get this message on my WordPress dashboard:
    “The parent theme is missing. Please install the “MekaNews Lite” parent theme.”

    The only file I have on my child theme folder is ‘style.css’ with the following content:

    /*
    Theme Name:MekaNews Lite Child
    Theme URI:https://themecountry.com/mekanews-lite
    Description:Child theme based on Mekanews Lite
    Author:ThemeCountry Team
    Author URI:https://themecountry.com/
    Template:MekaNews Lite
    Version:1.0.4
    Tags:one-column, two-columns, right-sidebar, left-sidebar, custom-menu, featured-images, post-formats, theme-options, blog, news, sticky-post, threaded-comments, translation-ready
    Text Domain:mekanews-lite
    */

    Please help me understand what is wrong. Thank you.

    Ok, just found a way to solve my problem.

    There is this fantastic plugin named Child Theme Configurator by Lilaea Media that automatically creates a child theme following all the technical rules that WordPress states and then helps tweaking some aspects one might want to change on themes.

    So your theme is a fantastic one (my number one favourite for a new project I’m working on) and this solution made it even better.

    5 stars will be on it’s way, right away…
