Hi, are the Webp conversions all based on the original Full Jpg or are they from the reduced sized jpg already produced by WordPress.

I think the quality of Webp would be much higher if each different sized Webp was directly generated from the original upload. thanks

    Hi @stevebro,

Thank you very much for your idea.

You’re probably right about this situation. However, this is difficult to implement because the plugin converts not only files added to the media library. All files in the /uploads directory and others are converted. Additionally, some of the file sizes are generated by other plugins later and it would be hard to synchronize all this with my plugin.

    What do you think?

    Best, Mateusz

after webp converted, does old files get deleted?

if yes, then all the post that have image do they automatically get webp version image? Or i have to manually update image attachment link?

sry for commenting others post. Just wanted some answer without creating a new post. For you.

@tvhex When adding images to the Media Library, the images are converted to WebP/AVIF automatically.

@tvhex The plugin does not delete the original images.

Have you read the plugin description? Everything is described in detail there.
