Is the plugin supposed to be adding a lot of content to the page?

So you’re saying it’s normal for the entire content of each Instagram post (all the comment text that shows in Instagram, not just the image that’s shown on the website) displayed by the plugin to be included in the code of the web page? It’s over 130 lines of code added to the page?

Yes, this is normal. You can adjust the HTML output of the feed to your preference though using Custom Templates: https://smashballoon.com/doc/guide-to-creating-custom-templates/
