Is the_content not used when generating a newsletter? – Can’t process footnotes

  • I use a plugin to put footnotes in a text. This plugin is hooked to the_content. But it looks like MailPoet does not call the_content or the_excerpt.

    How can I make MailPoet use the_content? Or how and where can I hook to MailPoet to process the footnotes?

    MailPoet does read the_content when grabbing the content of posts to add it to newsletters. It doesn’t support filters and actions added by other plugins, though.

    If you think the HTML generated by that footnote plugin will be well rendered in emails, it will be necessary to edit its code to change when the plugin is called by WordPress.
