Is there a decent release date/database plugin?

Hello all,

I’m sorry to bother everyone with this, but I’m having trouble finding if a plugin of this sort exists, just because searching for “release date plugin” doesn’t seem to help – it just gives me results of release dates FOR plugins…

Anyway, I run a video game site that’s going to be getting a massive overhaul within the next month or so, and I’m looking for a plugin that can create a listing/database for video games. Right now, the big thing is that it be able to show both recent releases as well as upcoming releases on the front page (see something like wii.ign.com).

The reason I don’t want to use a simple calendar widget is because I’d like to see if there’s a plugin that basically creates a database entry for each game, so that each game can be clicked on and you can see any recent posts about that game, image galleries (maybe tied with NGG), videos (if I can sort things out with Viddler), etc. I would imagine this would make use of custom fields?

Anyway, I would imagine if something like this exists, it would have been designed for a game site, or possibly a movie site, music CD site, or DVD site. I’m just having trouble due to the wording involved, and am wondering if any of you have every come across something.
