is there a "hosted" version of BuddyPress available or in the works?

At the Boston Word Camp this weekend, I attended a very interesting presentation on BuddyPress. I am eager to try it out, but my understanding is that it is currently only available as a plug-in. Is there any plan for something like “buddypress.com” which would allow me to set up a hosted buddy press network if I do not have an existing wordpress site?
