    Hi

I was interested in this plugin and had a few questions.

I noticed there is a core plugin and some pro/extension plugins? Is there a page that describes each piece, what features it has, and what the cost is?

Are there third-party plugins that “geo my wp” depends on? I have a whole site based on a premium theme that used a lot of third-party plugins and after I had it all set up I realized I had to pay yearly to upgrade all these other plugins that I didn’t know I would be dependent on. Hoping to avoid the same issue here.

Finally I’m hoping to use elementor – are there known issues using elementor and this plugin? Especially speed/performance wise?

My site is articles about photography locations… with a searchable map of the locationsyou can see it here.
    https://www.sidecarphoto.co/map-search/

    Thanks for any guidance!

    Hello @considerphi,

    1.

Is there a page that describes each piece, what features it has, and what the cost is?

    – Yes, you can find the extensions for GEO my WP on this page. Click on an extension to see the description and price.
The price of an extension is for a year. After a year the license key will expire.
The extension will still work with an expired license key, but you won’t have access to new updates.

    2.

Are there third-party plugins that “geo my wp” depends on?

    – No. GEO my WP is the core plugin that works as a stand-alone and does not require any other plugins. It does require a map/geocoding provider and at the moment it supports both Google Maps and LeafLet ( Nominating ). The leafLet service is free to use. But if you choose Google Maps you will need need to sign up and generate Google Maps API keys.

    3.

Finally I’m hoping to use elementor – are there known issues using elementor and this plugin? Especially speed/performance wise?

    – Not issues that I am aware of. If you find any, let me know and I will look into it.

Let me know if you have additional questions.

Great, thanks for the information. One thing was still a bit unclear, how can I see a demo of what is possible with just the core plugin?

I went to this page https://demo.geomywp.com/ but the demo maps are only on the other pages, like post type locator add-on. Is there a demo of GeoMyWP with NO extensions/add-ons?

Basically I’m trying to understand what I have to buy to duplicate this:

    Thanks!

    You are welcome, @considerphi.

The Posts Locator is a core extension ( not a premium extension ) built into GEO my WP core plugin.

Using the Posts Locator you will be able to geotag the posts on your site and to create Posts Locator proximity search forms. Same as you can see on the demo pages.

You can then customize ( using custom CSS ) the search form and search results template files so it will look the way you want.

    I hope this helps.

Thank you! I was able to create a map on my post pages, but I can’t get the search map to show up.

I inserted this shortcode in an elementor page and then in a plain wordpress page. In both cases nothing showed up. There is a form in the forms list.

    [gmw form="1"]

Here is a plain wordpress page where I inserted it

    https://www.sidecarphoto.co/map-search/

Surprisingly in elementor’s editor, the form shows up in a preview but not in the published page.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

    Hello @considerphi,

I am not sure what causes the issue.

Would you please type in some text in the content area of the page with the shortcode and see if the text shows up on the front-end.

Just to see if that’s an issue with the template file not displaying the page’s content at all.

    Hello Eyal

I think I see what’s happened but not sure how to fix. So when I installed your plugin I was on a test version of my site located at :
    https://photoshimona.com/scp

Now I have migrated to the production version at :
    https://www.sidecarphoto.co/

But something in the plugin code is remembering the old domain name. I’ve cleared cache probably 100 times since I migrated (I migrated about 2 weeks ago) so it’s not that.

But here on this page (I added the text like you asked)
    https://www.sidecarphoto.co/map-search/

I get a 404 not found for this file:
    https://photoshimona.com/scp/wp-content/plugins/geo-my-wp/plugins/posts-locator/templates/search-forms/horizontal-gray/css/style.css?ver=3.7.0.1

    Notice the old domain ^^

Any tips on how to fix?

    Thanks for your time,
    Shimona

    Shimona,

The issue caused by the internal cache of the plugin.

Please navigate to the dashboard-> GEO my WP -> Extensions, and deactivated – reactivate the Posts Locator core extension.

Doing so will clear the internal cache and should get the plugin working.

    I hope this helps.
