• Hi there,

We are having 10 shops in the country. We want a local pickup shipping method where the customer can choose between these 10 shops. The address of the chosen shop should be the shipping address of the order.

Is there a plugin for that?

    Hi @pstidsen

    Thank you for reaching out!

I would suggest checking the Local Pickup Plus extension, since this extension will provide you the ability to set up multiple pickup locations for the customer to choose a pickup location at checkout.

    I hope this helps!

    Hi Rafy,

I have seen the Local Pickup Plus extension. However, to me it looks like that the address of the pickup point is stored in custom meta fields in the order and not as the shipping address of the order. Are you seeing the same?

    Hi @pstidsen

The Local Pickup Plus extension let your customers to buy online and pick up in-store with options to pick up products from specific locations, select a pickup date, and more. It does not allow you to choose the selected pickup location as the shipping address.

I want to understand your end goal here. Are you referring to having multiple shipping locations which your customers can choose upon checkout? If so, you could check the Table Rate Shipping extension which extends WooCommerce’s default shipping options giving you highly customizable shipping options.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi @xue28

Thanks for your reply. I will try to make my end goal clear. I want to:
    1. have multiple shipping locations which your customers can choose upon checkout
    AND
    2. have the address of the chosen shipping location saved as the shipping address on the order. That is necessary to have the following order flow work properly.

The Local Pickup Plus extension fulfills the first criteria, but not the second. I need both.

    Hello @pstidsen

Thank you for clarifying your end goal here.

In this case and as I’ve mentioned previously, the Table Rate Shipping plugin will help you achieve your goal.

The table rate shipping module extends WooCommerce’s default shipping options giving you highly customizable shipping options.

You can define multiple shipping rates based on location, price, weight, or item count. Wildcards may be used to match multiple regions too.

You can give it a try and have your money refunded within 30 days if it still does not meet your needs. You can read more about our Refund Policy here.

    Thanks!

    Hi @xue28,

Thanks for your reply. I have read the documentation of the Table Rate Shipping plugin.

I cannot see how the plugin can make me achieve my goal. Can you clarify your thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Hi Peter,

Table Rate Shipping (TRS) allows to setup complex shipping rates, but if I understand you correctly what you need is a pref-defined set of shipping locations that the customer selects which then in turn is set as shipping address for the current order.
    TRS cannot do this.

I did some digging for you and found this: https://www.businessbloomer.com/woocommerce-ship-predefined-local-pickup-addresses/

Does that go into the right direction?

    Kind regards,

    Hi @conschneider,

Yes, that goes in the right direction. However still some way apart. Do you know a plugin solution that can do that functionality?

    Hi @pstidsen

I know this is a bit of a workaround but why not add each local pickup as an individual address (for all 10 stores), then use a plugin like https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/woo-shipping-display-mode/#developers to show it in a dropdown. The result would be something like the screenshot below, and also show as the address on the order.

    Cheers!

    Hi @rynald0s,

Will the address of the shipping method / pickup location be saved on the order as the shipping address? That’s the key feature that I cannot find anywhere.

    Hello,

Will the address of the shipping method / pickup location be saved on the order as the shipping address? That’s the key feature that I cannot find anywhere.

That sounds like a development topic. I’m going to leave it open for a bit to see if anyone is able to chime in to help you out.

We can also recommend you the following pages/resources:
The WooCommerce Developer Resources Portal. You can also check the WooCommerce Facebook group or the #developers channel of the WooCommerce Community Slack.

I hope this points you in the right direction.
