Is there a theme like this?

    I work for an art gallery – our website was built by a previous designer to me and it is in dire need of a revamp, ideally in WordPress as most of our staff are already competent in WP.

    The Irish Architecture Foundation has all of the features we’d need (events, exhibitions, home, interaction etc) – I like the way it’s laid out and although ours would be a simpler version and stylistically very different, the fundamental core of their site is perfect. I assume theirs is custom but it gives me a lot of hope as theirs is built in WordPress too!

    Are there existing themes/plugins that I could use to build something similar?

    You can make pretty much any layout or design in wordpress as you can in a static site.
    I doubt there is a free theme available that is similar enough to that.

    If you have the skills I suggest you design your theme from scratch, borrowing ideas from the design of that site.

    It would probably be easier then modifying an existing theme as most of the design comes from the css.

    Just start with a simple 3-column layout with header and footer and insert the required php and html.
    The codex has good articles on how to start if you’re not sure
