is there a way to change the permalinks for The Events Calendar pages?

I installed a plugin to stop the /category/ directory from displaying in the address bar but The Events Calendar automatically links to /category/events for the events list and /category/events/month for the calendar.

Is there a way to change the pages where these are displayed? Or would I have to create new .php files from scratch?
