Is there a way to customize this plugin to get data from S2Member Profile?

  • Hi Andrea and fellow plugin users,

    This plugin is a great idea and exactly what my members need to find like minded others with similar interests etc. I’ve created a form using the BP Search profile plugin, but it’s not working as I expected and on investigate I realize it’s looking to the buddypress profile fields, but my members join through a S2Member pro form, which uses S2Member’s profile fields. Is there a way around this?

    Hi Genevieve,

    Yes, it’s possible for a developer to write some custom code to add any user data to BP Profile Search forms. I can’t explain it in a few words, but I’m going to write a tutorial for developers in the next few days (or weeks, it depends on my available time).

    I’ll post the link here when the tutorial is ready. If you like to dig into code and you don’t need a tutorial, you can look at the plugin file bps-external.php for inspiration.
