    Hi,

I’m looking for a way to embed a single event on the homepage to promote it, and I can only find instructions on using shortcode, which is only possible in the PRO version. Is there no way to embed events within the free version? Have I missed it?

    Thanks!

  • Hi, vonJanne!

We do have a shortcode for embedding a single event into a post or page, but it is only available in the PRO version of The Events Calendar.

Have you tried using WordPress’ oEmbed feature. Many times, all it takes is copying and pasting the URL to the even into your post or page. Check out this artcle for more info:

Maybe that will suffice. Let me know if it works for you.

    Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion! It kind of works – not if I paste it into a text element in the visual composer, but if I paste it into an empty page using the classic WP editor it does (also with the newest WP version). What it actually does is to create an iframe with the event data in it, so I copied the code of that iframe from the test page and pasted that into the text element in my visual composer site. Voilà. ??

Not the simplest method, but a usable workaround in my case.

    Thanks again!

No problem. I’m glad you found a way to do it.

    Mike
