Due to GDPR-compliance, I would prefer not to pull the user’s name from his social account and only use his email address. According to the settings, this will generate a random username. Is there a way to let the user define his own username instead? Keep in mind that I have disabled the functionality to change the username in the backend profile settings because I want to avoid constantly changing usernames. I need a one-off solution in the registration process. Is this possible?

    Hi @flizzywp

Yes, it’s possible to allow users to set their username, but only in the Pro Addon. At each provider there’s a setting to “Ask Username on registration” which you can change to “When username is empty or invalid” or “Always” to make the users set the username they prefer to have.

That’s great, then I’ll go ahead and buy the Pro addon!

Bought! With your first class support, you really make this an easy decision. Keep it up!
