    Hi there

I’ve been using your plug-in for a long time and even purchased your Multi-site option.

Wondering if there is a way to manually change the database name in the import file?

I’ve discovered that the basic Network Solutions hosting plan my client uses does not allow for new databases to be created.

From their help: “On our nsHosting Shared packages, you do not have admin privileges on the MySQL server, so you will not be able to create additional users. You also cannot create new databases other than through our Account Manager.”

Let me know if I there is any way I can change the database info manually.

    Thank you!

  • I have a similar problem. I created my WordPress site using Database Name A, User Name A, and Password A. I want to migrate it (actually we’re doing a clean install of the server so I’m importing my backup from another hard drive, but effectively the same thing) to a clean WP install, which has Database Name B, User Name B, Password B. Is this possible?

    Hi,

You need to have WordPress installed before running export and import.
This way the database is already created and there is no need to create the new one.

Our plugin does not store the database name on export – it uses current WordPress database on export and import.

    Thanks, Pim.

Could you let me know why my import is getting stuck on Mu-Plugins?

    I got this error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_USE, expecting T_FUNCTION in /data/9/0/90/46/742861/user/758792/htdocs/csdev/wp-content/mu-plugins/gd-system-plugin.php on line 28

sounds like this plugin is a GoDaddy specific plugin. It probably depends on GoDaddy hosting to work.
You will want to remove this plugin after transfer.
